A few of my favorite things (for fall)

This fall my wardrobe is losing its colors. I'm focusing on black, grey, darker grey, and darker black, not to mention light grey, and heathered grey too. Call me inspired: I watched the YSL show and was just frozen shot-still at the sight of it. For me this fall it's going to be chunky silver hardware, texture, shine, and a lack of color. That doesn't mean walking around like a goth. The key for me seems to be contrast: I will probably get a nice heather grey jacket, some black oxfords, carry my black chanel timeless clutch, and wear everything else in varying shades of grey.

My shopping list? Amazingly, it is devoid of actual YSL items! I'm sure I will pick up something from the runway, but for now I'm just fixating on a lack of color.

- A signature jacket in a nice heather grey or black(not your average pea coat but something with unique tailoring, assuming the tailoring isn't too eye-catching I believe this will work well)

(DKNY, Rebecca Taylor, Marc by Marc Jacobs)

- Black patent flats (no peep toes! that's far too cold for fall)

(Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Dior)

- Heeled Oxfords/Spectator pumps (Again with the ixnay on the peeptoe ayyy! Oxfords are a great work style and peep toes are just too sexy for that, unless you're a magical sexy librarian that doesn't need to climb ladders or stools to put away books!)

(Dolce & Gabbana, Linea Paolo, Marc Jacobs)

- Textured clutches (such as quilting on leather, some interesting fabric, or a textured coloration)

(Bottega Veneta, Lauren Merkin, Marc Jacobs)

Well ok, so maybe I will throw in the occasional shock of crimson, plum, navy, or bronze. We'll see.

Here's some things I need to ponder further:
- I'm also craving crazy brightly colored striped socks. But not with flats or heels: probably with a simple black jean and some tsubos.
- Bags on long shoulder straps
- Wide leg pants
- Long necklaces with even weight distribution that saddle the middle of your neck such that one end hangs from both the front and the back
- Small sparkle here and there, to break up the black (buttons with gemstones, diamond studs, shiny silver buckles, etc)
- Whether it is more important to wear lots of bracelets or long gloves

It's going to be a crazy season. The options are incredible, difficult to sort through, and the possibility of mismatching items is far too tangible for some of my good-natured-but-deadly-get-up-get-dressed-quick mornings.
